A Self-Paced Online Master's in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics

A fully online 33-hour program with impressive career results, the Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics (MSCBA) examines information security and security risks that impact business and government.

You can choose between two specialty tracks — Cybersecurity and Business Analytics. Courses are application focused, presenting case studies and examples that introduce the most widely used analytics tools and techniques.

The program is ideal for students with an undergraduate degree in business, accounting, computer science or computer-related engineering, information systems, or information technology.

Master's in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics Specializations

This program allows you to choose between two specializations.

Cybersecurity Specialization

In the Cybersecurity specialization, you will learn:

  • Digital forensics
  • Systems and network administration
  • Advanced information system security

Business Analytics Specialization

In the Business Analytics specialization, you will learn how to:

  • Use analysis tools such as SAS, Anaconda, SQL, Python, Enterprise Miner and Sklearn

  • Conduct sentiment analysis

You must take six credit hours of Management Group courses. If you have earned a BBA from an AACSB-accredited school or a Bachelor of Economics within the past five years, you may substitute out of the Management Group courses and instead take an additional six credit hours of technical courses.

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or international equivalent, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • At least 30 credit hours of undergraduate or graduate courses in management, accounting, information systems, computer science, computer-related engineering or any combination thereof
  • Basic programming knowledge is required and must be demonstrated on official transcripts
    • Courses at UNM that meet this requirement include MGMT 330, ECE 131L, and CS 152L
